General Information on Marriage and Family Therapy Summary of the PROPOSED Continuing Education Requirements   Applicants must have:  Continuing education is not required during the initial licensure period, only for license renewals. 30 hours of continuing education is required per each 2-year licensure period. 6 of the 30 hours must be in ethics. 15 of the 30 hours must be completed in the physical presence of the sponsor.
